MUSIC LOVES ART 2024 -MICUSRAT- Successfully Held (August 12-25, 2024)

From August 12th to 25th, the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan hosted the groundbreaking project “MUSIC LOVES ART – MICUSRAT-,” a fusion of music and art. This event, launched in conjunction with the Agency’s relocation to Kyoto, aims to develop Kansai region to the area of creative economy, where a vibrant ecosystem by integration of entertainment, business, and finance is working based on cultural and artistic endeavors. In its inaugural year, the event featured art exhibitions and conferences in the heart of Osaka.
One of the exhibition venues, Hanshin Department Store Umeda Main Store, featured art in collaboration with the ongoing event “Ultra Heroes Expo 2024 Umeda Summer Festival.” At a conference held on August 23 in Nakanoshima, Mr. Kawabata of DMO Osaka Umeda participated in a talk session on the theme of “Understanding SXSW: Kansai as a region with Creative Economic Zone” and discussed successful case studies from SXSW and exploring strategies for fostering a creative regional community in Kansai.
